Thomson Reuters dan Anthropic resmi memperluas kemitraan strategis untuk mengintegrasikan sistem CoCounsel Legal ke dalam alur kerja Claude guna memenuhi standar fidusia bagi para profesional hukum pada Selasa, 12 Mei 2026. Kolaborasi ini bertujuan menjembatani kesenjangan antara kecepatan AI umum dengan akurasi sistem tingkat profesional dalam industri hukum yang berisiko tinggi.
CoCounsel Legal beroperasi dengan menelaah 1,9 miliar dokumen dari Westlaw dan Practical Law serta 1,4 miliar sinyal validitas KeyCite. Sistem generasi terbaru ini dibangun kembali menggunakan Anthropic Claude Agent SDK untuk memungkinkan AI merencanakan, memilih alat, dan mengambil konten otoritatif secara mandiri.
"Thomson Reuters is building CoCounsel Legal to be the fiduciary-grade system at the center of how legal work gets done, connected to the tools lawyers use and built to the standard their work demands," kata David Wong, Chief Product Officer, Thomson Reuters.
Ekspansi koneksi ini diproyeksikan akan terus tumbuh menjelang ketersediaan umum CoCounsel Legal generasi berikutnya yang dijadwalkan pada musim panas mendatang.
"Today's integration with Claude is one example of how those connections will continue to grow as we move toward general availability for the next generation of CoCounsel Legal expected this summer," kata David Wong, Chief Product Officer, Thomson Reuters.
Anthropic menegaskan bahwa integrasi ini memungkinkan pengguna beralih dari tahap eksplorasi menuju eksekusi pekerjaan dengan tingkat kepercayaan yang lebih tinggi melalui konten hukum yang terverifikasi.

Penggabungan Claude dengan CoCounsel Legal diklaim menyatukan keunggulan teknologi AI dengan alur kerja hukum yang sudah dipercaya oleh banyak firma hukum dan lembaga pemerintah.
"Integrating Claude with CoCounsel Legal brings together leading AI with trusted legal content and workflows, enabling users to move from exploration to execution with confidence," kata Scott White, Head of Product, Enterprise at Anthropic.
Chief Technology Officer Thomson Reuters menekankan bahwa kepercayaan pada AI dalam lingkungan profesional harus dibangun langsung ke dalam arsitektur sistem dan dapat diverifikasi di setiap langkahnya.
"Legal professionals deserve AI they can trust with their most important work. In professional environments, trust in AI is a property of the system itself, built into the architecture and verifiable at every step," kata Joel Hron, Chief Technology Officer, Thomson Reuters.
Saat ini, teknologi AI dari Thomson Reuters telah digunakan oleh satu juta profesional di 107 negara dengan jaminan bahwa data pelanggan tidak digunakan untuk melatih model pihak ketiga.

Today's integration is the first place lawyers will experience that," kata Joel Hron, Chief Technology Officer, Thomson Reuters.
Selain sektor korporat, Anthropic juga merangkul Justice Technology Association (JTA) sebagai mitra peluncuran untuk inisiatif vertikal hukum yang fokus pada krisis akses keadilan.
"Legal services are out of reach for many people and small businesses, and the gap is widening," kata Anthropic.
Inisiatif ini melibatkan organisasi bantuan hukum seperti Free Law Project untuk membuat layanan hukum menjadi lebih terjangkau bagi masyarakat luas melalui infrastruktur teknologi baru.
"We’re working with the Free Law Project, Justice Technology Association and other legal aid and public service organizations to help make legal services more affordable and available," kata Anthropic.
Direktur Eksekutif JTA menyatakan bahwa langkah Anthropic untuk memasukkan akses keadilan sebagai prioritas utama merupakan pengakuan terhadap kenyataan krisis hukum saat ini.
"The access to justice crisis is one of the most urgent, yet solvable problems of our time," kata Maya Markovich, executive director of JTA.
Terdapat tiga perusahaan anggota JTA yang menyediakan integrasi perdana, yaitu Boardwise, Courtroom5, dan Descrybe, guna mendukung masyarakat yang menavigasi masalah hukum secara mandiri.
"Anthropic’s decision to build access to justice into the core of Claude for Legal — not as a side feature but as a named priority alongside enterprise legal tools — signals that the industry is finally reckoning with that reality," kata Maya Markovich, executive director of JTA.
